Lip Filler in Englewood, FL
What Is Lip Filler?
Lip filler uses hyaluronic acid gel injected into the lips and surrounding structures to enhance volume, define the lip border, correct asymmetry, and improve overall shape. Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally occurring in the body, which makes HA filler both well-tolerated and reversible with the hyaluronidase enzyme if needed.
The approach at A Younger You Wellness Medspa is anatomy-first: Quynh assesses your lips in the context of your entire face before any product is placed. The upper-to-lower lip ratio, the width of the mouth relative to the face, the prominence of the Cupid’s bow, and the degree of natural volume all factor into the plan. A lip that looks natural is a lip that belongs to the face it is on.
The overfilled look comes from ignoring facial proportion and prioritising volume for its own sake. Quynh recommends the amount of product that achieves your stated goal while keeping your lips in balance with the rest of your features. She will tell you honestly if less is better.

What to Expect at Your Lip Filler Appointment
Step 1: Consultation
Quynh assesses your lip anatomy, discusses your goals, and recommends a specific treatment plan including product choice, amount, and technique. She explains exactly what the result will look like and what to expect immediately after versus at the settled 2-week result.
Step 2: Numbing
A topical numbing cream is applied and allowed to take effect for 15 to 20 minutes before injection. Most filler products also contain lidocaine, which provides additional numbing during injection.
Step 3: Injection
Quynh injects the filler using a fine needle or cannula, working through specific injection points mapped to your anatomy. The session takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes once numbing is complete.
Step 4: Immediate Post-Treatment
Swelling is normal and expected immediately after lip filler, particularly in the first 24 to 48 hours. The lips will appear larger immediately after treatment than they will at the final settled result. Avoid exercise, heat, alcohol, and dental procedures for 24 hours. Avoid lip pressure for the remainder of the day.
Step 5: Settled Result and Longevity
The final settled result is visible at 1 to 2 weeks once all swelling has resolved. This is the result to evaluate, not the day-of appearance. Lip filler typically lasts 6 to 9 months before a maintenance appointment is needed.
The Evidence Behind Neurotoxin Treatment
What to Realistically Expect
Lip filler produces immediate visible results with some swelling in the first 24 to 48 hours. The final result is assessed at 2 weeks once fully settled. Results vary based on your starting anatomy, how much product is used, and your individual metabolism.
Lip filler lasts 6 to 9 months on average. The lips are a high-movement area and filler metabolizes faster here than in less active zones. Some patients with faster metabolism see 5 months. Some patients with slower metabolism see closer to a year. Maintenance appointments are recommended when the results have diminished to a point where you feel you want them refreshed.

Is Lip Filler Right for You?
A strong fit for patients who:
- Want to enhance lip volume in a way that looks natural and proportionate to their face
- Have thin or naturally flat lips and want modest, balanced enhancement
- Have age-related lip thinning or loss of border definition they want to address
- Have lip asymmetry they want corrected
- Have had lip filler elsewhere that looked overfilled and want a more conservative, anatomy-driven approach
This may not be the right approach if:
- You want very significant lip volume. Large amounts of filler can look unnatural and disproportionate. Quynh will be honest about what is achievable while maintaining proportion.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding. Filler is contraindicated during this period.
- You have an active cold sore or lip infection. Treatment must be postponed until resolved.
